Why is the LightSheer DUET different from other lasers?

The High Speed LightSheer DUET offers several innovative improvements over the previous laser hair removal systems. A vacuum assisted technology combined with an increase in the laser spot size enables a greater depth of penetration, and improved absorption of energy at the hair follicle. These improvements translate to fewer treatments and length of treatment time. (Example: back or legs treatments can be comfortably accomplished in 20 minutes, without gels or anesthetics).

How does laser hair removal work?

The LightSheer Duet is a laser that produces a larger beam of highly concentrated light. The light emitted is well absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles. During the procedure, the laser pulses for a fraction of a second, allowing the hair to absorb the light and heat up. As it heats up, the hair shaft and bulb are damaged, which significantly impedes its ability to re-grow. The new, larger laser spot size allows treatment of multiple hair follicles at the same time, substantially expediting the process and making it much faster than older, traditional laser hair removal treatments.

Important Facts

• Laser hair removal requires multiple treatments. The laser will function at optimum levels when hairs are in an early stage of growth. All hairs cannot be at an early growth stage at the same time, therefore, treatments are staggered based on hair growth.
• Faster treatment times than older, traditional laser hair removal treatments.
• Mild discomfort, varying among patients. Although many patients report the treatment is pain-free, the LightSheer Duet system is much less painful than the older traditional laser hair removal treatments.
• No sun exposure to treatment areas.
• All treatment areas, except for women’s faces, should be clean shaven prior to treatment
