Tighten Loose Skin without Surgery: We Have Awesome Options

Do you feel self-conscious about loose skin on your stomach, arms, or even your face? Surgical lifts, including tummy tucks and face lifts, can eliminate that jiggle in your skin, but what if you don’t want (or can’t have) surgery? You’re not out of options!

As a top-ranked plastic surgeon in Fairfield, Connecticut, Alfred Sofer, MD is an expert when it comes to surgical lifts, but he also knows that there’s more than one way to reach your goal.

Here’s a breakdown of our surgery-free skin-tightening options.

J-Plasma skin tightening

Renuvion® — sometimes called J-Plasty or J-Plasma — is a non-surgical procedure designed to tighten loose skin. J-Plasma skin tightening uses helium gas and radiofrequency energy to tighten loose skin. J-Plasma is minimally invasive and won’t require the same lengthy downtime as a traditional lift surgery. Results are immediate and can last for up to ten years!

You might consider this option if the lax skin on your thighs and hips, stomach, breasts, or upper arms bothers you too.

YAG skin rejuvenation

J-Plasma isn’t your only option when it comes to skin tightening. Thanks to the Cynosure Apogee Elite 1064, you can get smoother, firmer skin without any incisions. YAG skin rejuvenation is noninvasive. It uses infrared lasers to gently warm your skin to 118 degrees Fahrenheit. This leads to increased collagen production, increased elastin production, and firmer, tighter skin.

You might consider YAG skin rejuvenation if you want a noninvasive treatment and are willing to commit to a few sessions. If tighter skin is your goal, we’ll likely suggest four treatments spaced about two to four weeks apart.

Microneedling is a popular aesthetic treatment thanks to its ability to reduce the appearance of fine lines and facial scars, as well as shrink pores. According to Medical News Today, microneedling also provides skin-firming effects thanks to increased collagen production.

You might consider microneedling if you have several issues you want to tackle (e.g., hyperpigmentation, large pores, fine lines, etc.).

IPL Fotofacial

IPL Fotofacials are ideal for targeting acne, rosacea, and age spots, but they can also promote skin firmness. Although “facials” might seem like a face-only treatment, IPL can be used to address skin concerns on your arms, shoulders, neck, legs, and face too.

You might consider an IPL Fotofacial if you want firmer skin as well as skin with an even tone and texture.
